Sonifex Show The New Redbox RB-DD4 At NAB 2010

RB-DD4 4 Channel Digital Audio Delay, (Shown With Video Sync).
Sonifex are pleased to be showing the new Redbox RB-DD4 4 channel digital audio delay on booth C2739 at NAB 2010.
This new addition to the Redbox suite allows you to delay 4 mono channels of audio independently or together. Each channel delay is user selectable from multiples of common video frame rates, or a user defined value set via the serial interface. The unit is perfect for synchronizing audio to video which has been delayed by processing latency and especially useful for simultaneously processing all of the channels in an audio group. Using front panel controls you can select the length of one frame of delay, the multiple of frames to delay by and which channel needs to be delayed, with an option for ‘ALL’ channels.
Eamonn Heffernan, Sales Manager, said: “The connectivity is incredibly flexible, with three different types of connection for each input and output including AES/EBU, S/PDIF and TOSLink. All three different types of output can be used simultaneously.”
There is a monitor socket on the front panel which allows you to listen to each mono channel, by front panel selection. The channels can be optionally monitored as pairs using a rear panel stereo option. Audio presence is detected and displayed for each channel on front panel LEDs.
A powerful feature of the RB-DD4 is the free of charge Sonifex SCi serial control software. Through this, the unit can be programmed for different delay durations, levels, switching functions and chosen applications. Couple it with our new Redbox embedders and de-embedders and it forms part of an ensemble of practical tools for video and TV broadcast use.
